was a lifestyle multimedia series, that I started in 2010, where I highlighted (via highly stylized photography and video) Washington, DC area creatives, such as artists, musicians, and DJs, that are making noise within their respective crafts/industries.  Combined, these candid shots and video will tell two stories:

1.) How this person is building their brand
2.) The steps they take to create a branded project

MAKE NO!SE x DC Shoes feat DJ 2-Tone Jones

In the first project I highlighted a DJ by the name of DJ 2-Tone Jones. Originally from Charlotte, NC, 2-Tone is an emerging DJ who's shared the stage and backed the likes of De La Soul, Robert Glasper, N'Dea Davenport (from The Brand New Heavies), Kendrick Lamar, Brand Nubian, Raekwon, Pete Rock, and Phife Dog (from A Tribe Called Quest).

MAKE NO!SE x FILA feat Dannon Cook

Dannon Cook is a sought after barber and classically trained violinist who attended Howard University via his musical talents making him the definition of a multihyphenate: a creative who's barbering skills range from your basic lineups and fades to crafting a limitless array of designs into many a head.  And on the flip-side there’s Dannon’s musical abilities as a violinist – who’s been mastering the instrument since the third grade.

MAKE NO!SE x Native Shoes feat Risikat Okedeyi

In this edition of MAKE NO!SE I highlight Risikat Okedeyi of Lil SoSo Productions which produces some of the most eclectic and concept driven events (ed. note – she’s NOT a promoter), in addition to managing an array of colorful artists and DJs, the DC area (and the east coast for that matter) has to offer.
